quotes from the football world

It won't protect the best players, it will protect the mediocre ones and you don't win a World Cup with mediocre players
Arsene Wenger
Arsenal manager

It does not matter where you are born, it matters who you are
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger

"It depends where you're looking from - whether you're on the beach in the summer and you're concerned about the national team, or it's Saturday and you're at Chelsea or Arsenal. You can't have it both ways.

"We benefit as individual fans because we see world-class players. But the price for that is that the national team is suffering."

David Gold, Birmingham City Chairman

another loser comment from man u boss

well, congratulations to sir alex ferguson as he is the red devil's boss for 21 years. it's a wonder tat u can live up till so old. back to business, i kinda enjoyed myself reading the comments from fergie after his men's effort went down the drain after the dramatic match between arsenal n man united last sat night malaysian time. a typical ferguson i would say, whenever his men won, i can expect words like "we did well today", "definitely is a sweet victory for us", "the effort had definitely paid off",on the other hand when his side lost, words like "howard webb is a good referee, but in this game, he favored the home side", "the referee had been pressured by the home side fans" and etc from ferguson is a norm.

if anyone of u r up to date with the news of football, u definitely will know tat the england fifa had asked each n every club to impose a foreign quota tat limits onli 5 foreigners to play in their start up 11 way back weeks b4, mayb even b4 man u beat chelsea down to 2-nil. the problem is y alex ferguson din voice out his support to the "brillian" idea from the fifa by then but now. is it because he felt the pressure from the gunners? or juz a sudden liking to the idea of the foreign quotas. lets face it, manchester united also had their own squad of foreign players although the manchester academy is producing some local talents for the future, like chris eagles. the list of foreign players tat currently serving the red devils will be as below:

1) Edwin Van Der Saar (Goalkeeper) - Holland
2) Patrice Evra (Defender) - France
3) Christiano Ronaldo (Winger) - Portugal
4) Anderson (Forward) - Brazil
5) Luis Saha (Striker) - France
6) Ryan Giggs (Midfielder) - Wales
7) Park Ji-Sung (Midfielder) - South Republic of Korea
8) Nemanja Vidic (Defender) - Serbia
9) Nani (Winger) - Portugal
10) Gerard Pique (Defender) - Spain
11) FangZhou Dong (Striker) - China
12) John O' Shea (Defender/Midfielder) - Republic of Ireland
13) Johnny Evans (Defender) - Northern Ireland
14) Darren Fletcher (Midfielder) - Scotland
15) Mikeal Silvester (Defender) - France
16) Darron Gibson (Midfielder) - Northern Ireland
17) Carloz Tevez (Striker) - Argentina
18) Tomasz Kuszczak (Goalkeeper) - Poland
19) Craig Cathcart (Defender) - Northern Ireland
20) David Gray (Defender) - Scotland
(Information from www.manchesterunited.com-the official website for manchester united)

now the start up 11 of man u consist of of van der saar, giggs, evra, ronaldo, tevez and vidic which to be exact is 6 foreigner players in the start up 11. even in the last arsenal man u clash, anderson also played in th starting 11 which makes it 7. is it sir alex ferguson failed his math since elementary level or wat?? there's no point talking about supportin the idea of foreign quota if u r not following it or rather onli supporting it after the effort given by ur team was flushed down the toilet bowl after the wenger's team enjoyed it.

Think before you act, Sir Alex Ferguson. Dun think by just using your lower half of the body.

P.S: sorry la ruud_away, I am a noob in football mah. hope u like it. peace.. :)
